Why Runners Love the ON Cloudrunner 3
Product FAQs
Is the Cloudrunner 3 a stability shoe?
Yes, it is a mild-to-moderate stability shoe. It uses a wide base and high sidewalls to cradle the foot, providing support through geometry rather than the intrusive feel of a traditional rigid post.
Is this shoe good for all-day walking and standing?
Excellent. The stable platform and heavily padded "bucket seat" fit make it a top choice for those on their feet for long periods, such as healthcare workers or travelers.
Does the cushioning feel firm or soft?
The Cloudrunner 3 is on the firmer side of the spectrum. This "firm but forgiving" ride provides a stable, grounded feel and better durability compared to squishier max-cushion trainers.
How does the fit feel compared to the previous model?
It fits true-to-size but feels more premium. The 3rd generation features significantly more padding in the heel and tongue for a plusher, more secure lockdown. It is also available in Wide (2E/D) widths.
Will rocks get stuck in the outsole?
On redesigned the CloudTec® cavities for this version. The pods are deeper and geometrically shaped to significantly reduce the chance of picking up debris or gravel.
Is it good for fast runs or speedwork?
This model is designed for daily miles and recovery runs. While the Speedboard® adds some snap, the Helion™ superfoam is tuned for protection and stability rather than the high energy return required for racing or intervals.
How does it compare to the HOKA Arahi 8?
Both are "bucket seat" stability shoes. The Cloudrunner 3 offers a firmer, more responsive ride and a more padded upper, whereas the Arahi 8 has a softer, more rockered feel.
