What's new?

The NIMBUS MIRAI™ 2 is approximately 37 g lighter than the original while advancing its circular construction and reducing its carbon footprint by approximately 20% to 4.9 kg CO₂e per pair. It also incorporates more plant-derived material and even uses recycled polyester recovered from first-generation NIMBUS MIRAI™ shoes in part of the ASICS stripe.

The upper is designed primarily around a single material, helping simplify material recovery after the shoe reaches the end of its usable life. A portion of the ASICS stripe also incorporates recycled polyester generated from previously used first-generation NIMBUS MIRAI™ shoes.

MIDSOLE


Comfort-focused cushioning provides the soft, protective experience associated with the GEL-NIMBUS™ family while incorporating a greater amount of plant-derived material. ASICS reports that at least 75% of the cushioning material is derived from sugarcane.

OUTSOLE


The sole construction is designed with both running performance and end-of-life recovery in mind. ASICS uses a proprietary adhesive that securely bonds the upper and sole during use but allows the components to be more easily separated when heat is applied during the recycling process.
