THE RUNDOWN

The plushest ride on the road.

We threw out the rulebook when creating the Skyward X. Pushing soft and smooth to the extreme, this cushy new trainer features a revolutionary suspension system with a convex carbon fiber plate that allows the suspension system to compress and spring back with each step. A soft, highly resilient PEBA foam sits closest to the foot for a lively, cushioned ride, while a super critical EVA frame provides a stable base for your easiest miles yet.

FIT SPECS

MAXIMUM CUSHION The level of foam padding in the midsole. More cushion = softer feel and better shock absorption. Less cushion = more ground feel and responsiveness.

Fit & Feel
The Skyward X feels exceptionally soft and protective underfoot, with PEBA foam delivering deep cushioning and a springy rebound. The large stack height absorbs impact while maintaining a surprisingly stable platform.
Ride
The ride is smooth, rolling, and highly cushioned. A convex carbon fiber plate works with the foam layers to create a suspension-like effect that compresses on landing and springs back during toe-off.

Product FAQs

WHAT IS THE HOKA SKYWAR D X BEST USED FOR?

The Skyward X is best suited for daily training, recovery runs, and long runs, offering maximum cushioning and comfort for high-mileage weeks.

WHAT MAKES THE SKYWAR D X UNIQUE?

Its combination of PEBA foam, supercritical EVA frame, and a convex carbon fiber plate creates a suspension-like ride that feels softer and smoother than most carbon-plated trainers.

IS THE SKYWAR D X A RACE SHOE?

While it includes a carbon plate, the Skyward X is primarily designed as a max-cushion training shoe, focusing on comfort and protection rather than pure race-day speed.

IS THE SKYWAR D X GOOD FOR LONG DISTANCE RUNS?

Yes. Its extremely high stack height and soft cushioning make it well suited for long training runs and recovery miles.

DOES IT FIT TRUE TO SIZE?

Most runners report the Skyward X fits true to size, with a secure midfoot and comfortable toe box.

HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO OTHER HOKA SHOES?

Compared with shoes like the Clifton or Bondi, the Skyward X offers even more cushioning and adds a carbon plate for smoother transitions, making it one of HOKA’s most advanced daily trainers.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO MAKE SURE IT FITS COMFORTABLY?

Measure your feet at the end of the day when they’re at their largest. Leave about a thumb’s width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. The heel should fit snugly without slipping, and the midfoot should feel secure without being too tight.
