Where do I pick up my race packet, shirt, and bib?

Packet Pick Up will be at:

  • Fit2Run Downtown Sarasota Sunday 11/24 12pm-4pm
  • Fit2Run Downtown Sarasota Monday 11/25 12pm-7pm
  • Fit2Run UTC Tuesday 11/26 12pm-8pm
  • Fit2Run UTC Wednesday 11/27 12pm-8pm
  • Packets can also be picked up on race day at the Pre-Registration Tent 6:00-7:45am


Can I register on race day?

On-site registration will be available 6:00-7:45 am.  Registration cost on race days is $45 for the timed 5K, $40 for the 5K walk, $25 for kids 13 & under 5K and $20 for the Kids’ Dash. Cash and credit card will be accepted.  Please come to the Fit2Run Registration tent. 


What time does the race start and when should I arrive?

Race Day Schedule:

6:00 am: Parking lot opens

6:00 am-7:45am: Onsite registration tent opens

7:10 am: Kids Warm Up sponsored by Title Boxing (under the tower)

7:15 am: Kids Turkey Dash; sponsored by Dr.Mac, starts 

7:30 am: Warm up stretch for 5K sponsored by Title Boxing

7:40-7:50 am: Runners to the start line

8:00am: 5K Run starts

8:05 am: 5K Walk Starts

8:15 am:  Post Race Celebratory Beverages and Cinnamon Rolls are served

8:30-9:30 am: Top 100 male and top 100 female finishers pick up commemorative pie cutter at Fit2Run Registration Tent

10:00 am: Event concludes, Happy Thanksgiving!


Where do I park?

Parking is available onsite on Regatta Island at Nathan Benderson Park.  The start line will be near the finish tower and plenty of parking spots are available in the grass field. Parking attendants will be onsite at 6:00am to direct you and will be collecting non-perishable food donations for All Faiths Food Bank.

What if it rains?

The event is taking place rain or shine.  In the event of lightning or hazardous conditions the start time may be delayed or cancelled.  Should the event be cancelled we will consider your registration fee a donation to SANCA.  If there are poor weather conditions, please check the event page on Facebook for updates.


Are strollers and pets allowed in the race?

Yes!  Strollers and dogs on 6’ non-retractable leashes are welcome.


Where can I use the restrooms?

Port-a-lets will be on site as well as restrooms available on the ground floor of the finish tower.


Is there a bag drop?

Bags may be left at the Fit2Run on-site registration tent. Parking is close to the start line, so storing your belongings in your vehicle is recommended.  Fit2Run and Nathan Benderson Park are not responsible for missing or items left.


Are there water stops along the 5K course?

2 water stops will be along the course, and water will be available at the finish line.


Who is the race benefitting?

Proceeds from the race benefit The Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, Inc. (SANCA), a non-profit 501c3 business created to manage Nathan Benderson Park, a community/public asset and world class, multi-use sports venue. SANCA’s mission is to improve the quality of life for our community and be an economic generator for our region.

Canned food donations will also be accepted by Fit2Run and NBP on race day, so All Faiths Food Bank can provide healthy solutions to end hunger in our community this holiday season.


Is the 5K chip-timed?

Yes! Timing will start as soon as the runner crosses the starting line. Results will be posted HERE after the race.  


What could I win?

The top 100 male and top 100 female finishers will receive a commemorative oven mitt.  After the race the Day of Registration Tent will have results posted and the top finishers may pick up their prize.  Prizes not claimed by 9:30 am can be picked up starting Friday 11/29 at Fit2Run UTC.


Is there anything planned for after the race?

After crossing the finish line bibbed participants will be awarded a cinnamon roll from Der Dutchman or slice of pumpkin pie, and a celebratory beverage.  Beer and mimosas will be available for adults as well as juice and water for runners of all ages.


What about the race course? 

The start line will be just south of the finish tower.  Runners will travel up to Cattlemen Road and then take a left at the playground. The course continues along the lake, and runners turn left onto the wave attenuator for the “final floating mile”. The path over the water is built on the wave attenuator and is concrete and approximately 10ft wide. The race finishes back at the start line, near the tower. 


Where will EMS be located?

EMS will be located at the finish line on the island.  Please report any issues along the course to a water station attendant.
