Where do I pick up my race packet, shirt, and bib?
Packet Pick Up will be at:
Firkins Chrysler Jeep, Thursday 2/6/2020 4pm-7pm
Fit2Run UTC, Friday 2/7/2020, 4pm-7pm
Race Starting Line, Saturday 2/8/2020, 2pm-5:15pm. The starting line is located at 10th Ave W and 5th St W in Palmetto.
Can I pick up a packet for someone else?
Yes, you’ll just need their name and you are welcome to pick up packets for other people
Can I register on race day?
On-site registration will be available from 12pm-5pm. Registration cost on race days is $40 for the timed 5K, $35 for the walk, $20 for the kids relay. Cash and credit card will be accepted. Please come to the Fit2Run Registration tent at the finish line to register from 12-5pm, or the starting line and packet pick up tent from 3-5:30pm.
Where do I park?
A popular question. There are plenty of lots and garages around the event perimeter and downtown. Fees for parking in any private or public lot surrounding the event are controlled by the respective lot owner/manager. Drivers are encouraged to check in advance to determine lot availability and any charges to use them. For parking in the City of Palmetto please CLICK HERE
Race Day Schedule:
2:00 pm: Onsite Registration and Packet Pickup Begins
3:00 pm: River Regatta Championship Powerboat Races (Formula 3)
3:45 pm: River Regatta Championship Powerboat Races (Formula 2)
5:00 pm: Kids River Run
5:30 pm: 5K Run/Walk Begins
5:45 pm: Post race party in Finish Line Fireworks VIP Viewing lot begins
5:45 pm: Top 100 male and female finisher claim prizes at Fit2Run tent in VIP Fireworks Viewing lot
6:45 pm: Fireworks on the River
7:15 pm: Fireworks conclude, event ends
After crossing the finish line at Riverside Drive and the Green Bridge race finishers (and those with Spectator Wristbands) will have access to the VIP Fireworks Viewing lot on the northeast side of the bridge, just before the finish line. This lot will be reserved for seating for race participants and spectators who purchased wristbands ONLY, as well as vendors and sponsors for the Regatta Bridge Run 5K.
El Indio Tacos will be served, and Beer will be available at the Desoto Society Beer Garden. Fit Life Foods and Detwiler’s will also be onsite with refreshments. All participants and spectators with wristbands will have 1 food and 1 drink ticket each. Additional food and drink will be available for purchase.
What if it rains?
The event is taking place rain or shine. In the event of lightning or hazardous conditions the start time may be delayed or cancelled. If there are poor weather conditions, please check the event page on Facebook for updates.
Are strollers and pets allowed in the race?
Yes, we ask that strollers and runners with pets (on non-retractable leashes) start in the back to allow other runners to start quickly.
Where can I use the restrooms?
Portable restrooms will be on site.
Is there a bag drop?
Yes, there will be a bag drop at the starting line. You will have a ticket on your bib to claim your gear after the race, at the VIP Fireworks Viewing lot at the finish line.
Are there water stops along the course?
Yes, we have a water stop on the course, on the Bradenton side, at 3rd Ave W and 9th St W. Runners will pass the water stop twice. Post-race water will also be available.
Who is the race benefitting?
Proceeds from the race benefit the LECOM Scholarship Fund
What about the race course?
The Regatta Bridge Run will start in Palmetto on 10th Ave W between 4th St W and 5th St W. The course will turn left onto 4th St W then right onto 8th Ave west to cross the Green Bridge. Participants will travel to 3rd Ave W in Bradenton and turn around near the Manatee Performing Arts Center to come back across the bridge for a spectacular finish at Riverside Drive and 8th Ave.
